We would like to introduce to you the newest filly that will eventually enter our growing broodmare band.  Angel was born on Friday the 13th so her breeder felt that she needed a little bit of luck and named her 'Chance of a Lucky Charm'! We call her 'Angel' because that is exactly what she reminds me of.

MMMMMM, That sun feels soooo good!

Angel is black-more of a bronze color in the summer. She may very well be a 'Smokey Black'. That means that she will produce as though outwardly she is a palomino. Misty and Angel share the same line through Chance's Goldust H.
We saw Angel at the MN Walking Horse Open house.  I knew I wanted a filly out of her sire because of his heavy foundation breeding-both top and bottom.  Misty and he share the same line through Chance's Goldust H. They look a lot alike actually, confirming my belief that the line is "true".  Angel and Bobbie share the line-Another Masterpiece.

Another Masterpiece

Chances Goldust H

What I mean by "true" is basically that the papers are 'honest'-not 'put on'.  Before blood typing came to be, registration papers were only as accurate as the breeders were honest.  Obviously, a descendant of Midnight Sun or Merry Go Boy was worth more money than a descendant of an unknown horse.  Blood typing has helped greatly to eliminate false registration papers.

Angel's sire is a light palomino direct son of Chance's Goldust H.  His name is 'Double Eagle'.  His dam is a grand-daughter of Midnight Sun and Pride of Hall Allen.  He has the foundation horses: Hunter's Allen F-10, Merry Legs F-4 and Roan Allen F-38 on the fourth line of his registration papers.  He also has Hall Allen on his papers FOUR times-top and bottom.  Hall Allen was by Roan Allen F-38 and Ella II.  Ella II was by Hunter's Allen F-10.  That is a lot of Hunter's Allen F-10!  Last Chance appears on her sire's third line back.  This heavy Hunter Allen line should combine nicely with the Last Chance line in our stallion-Black Jax Merry Chance.

Angel's dams papers are impressive as well.  Her dam is a black grand-daughter of WGC Another Masterpiece and Sun's Dark Beam.  Her third line back shows such greats as:  WGC Ebony Masterpiece, WGC Sun's Delight D. and WGC Midnight Sun!  Her fourth line back reads: Skipper Son Midnight, Pride of Panola, WGC Midnight Sun-TWICE, Go Boy's Big Talk, Wilson Allen, Sun-Dust and Wilkins Roan Allen.  Her owner says she is her favorite trail mare.  She has a wonderful disposition and has passed that on to Angel. Angel is very correct in her conformation.  You really can do anything with her.  She has no fears and is TOTALLY trusting of people.  Connie always does a wonderful job imprinting and working with the foals before they leave for their new homes.  Angel has a wonderful presence and is absolutely gorgeous when she sees something interesting!  She has a beautiful head and long neck.

The Immortal Midnight Sun.

Hello, I am an Angel.(Or so they tell me)

Angel is in training now with Marie Erickson of Hankinson, ND for the next two months. Marie enjoys her 'cuddly' nature. She is a very loving mare. Her and Pa should make a good cross in the future. I plan to take Angel on a trail ride at Lone Butte, ND this June, 2004.
