I rode my first Walker in 1994
and fell in love with this wonderful breed of horse. I
have learned so much since that first ride. There is a lot
of information on this website, not just about our horses, but
about some of the greatest horses of this breed.
We believe in producing Tennessee
Walking Horses that can do an honest running walk without shoes
or special training. Our breeding stock descends from the
bloodlines of many of this breeds finest horses. Each
horse has been carefully selected to contribute their special
talents to our breeding program.
We have
recently been in the process of buying our own farm. We
are all moved over to the new place. The new pole sheds
are up and alot of the work on the house is done. Because
we now live on Beaver Creek, instead of Rose Creek, we have
decided to change our name.
It is hard
to change your name. It isn't just words-it means
something more. It will take some getting used to and
take some time to switch everything over. The evening
we brought Pa home and put him in his new paddock, I sat in his
pen and watched him check out his new home. The sun went
down and I noticed a couple of firefly's, then more, then when I
looked closer and walked down by the coulee-I saw hundreds, thousands of
them blinking on and off! What a magical sight on a
warm summer evening, on your new farm, where all is quiet except
for the sound of your horses eating. A new beginning for
all of us.
Firefly
Walkers is our new name. It will always
remind me of that wonderful summer night.
